Initially, I invested in the freedom, opportunity, and lifestyle this wonderful country had, and still has, to offer me. I was idealistic. And it was awesome! But after a while I realized that I had to come back down to Earth and be a little more realistic. When I did, I bought my first piece of real estate here in Playa Hermosa, Guanacaste. It was life changing for me.
I now speak Spanish, have a beautiful wife and two wonderful kids, own my own home a stone’s throw from one of the most stunning beaches in Guanacaste, have enough land to grow 25 varieties of fruit trees, veggies, chili peppers, and spices while leaving the rest wild for nature. I wear shorts, flip flops, and a polo shirt to work. My commute is 3 minutes to my office. It’s a tropical Mayberry, lightyears away from the rat race I left in Chicago.
